Playing the piano in the British Literature Classroom

Posted by Sean FitzGerald on May 26, 2007

The British Literature classroom is located in a mansion on the Knightsbridge Sim, which is designed to represent real world London - all of the houses are modeled after houses in real life. By clicking on paintings and furniture in the mansion’s three floors students receive course material, including syllabi, assignments, activities and a selection of study texts. The classroom was developed by Beth Ritter-Guth (SL name - Desideria Stockton), Instructor of English, at Lehigh Carbon Community College to teach Brit Lit classes.

Jokay and I knocking back a few tequilas

Posted by Sean FitzGerald on April 28, 2007

We’re at this bar on Middletown. It’s not too bad, but I wouldn’t want to upset the muppet barman! I think the head of one of his customers who didn’t pay is in the prim box on the bar!

Checking out Seifert Surface’s mathematical sculptures

Posted by Sean FitzGerald on March 3, 2007

Each sculpture illustrates a mathematical concept - such as knots, ruled surfaces, fractals, and Serpinksi Triangles - and comes with an explanatory notecard.

The sculptures are on the roof of the NMC Welcome Center.

Thanks to CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) for the pointer.

We have new neighbours!

Posted by Sean FitzGerald on February 23, 2007

A nice little cottage. They’ve added cliffs, and waves… on a lake?! Oh well… it is Second Life after all! Better than the casino that was there before anyway. (Can you see me sitting on the cliff admiring the view?)
